Seymour Kushner: Who’s Who
Among the many classic rock bands in Seymour Kushner’s music collection The Who certainly rank high on his list of favorites. Formed in 1964 by the now-legendary singer Roger Daltrey, The Who are still known for delivering high-energy rock and roll to this day. During their heyday in the 1960s and 70s, they played many renowned music festivals including Monterey Pop, the Isle of Wight, and of course, Woodstock.
In more recent years, they even played the Super Bowl halftime show. Their intense live shows were often volatile and, in what Rolling Stone deems one of rock and roll’s defining moments, guitarist Pete Townshend destroyed his guitar by smashing it on the stage during a 1964 concert in London. Their unique and uncompromising sound combined with their raucous stage show make them a staple of any rock lover’s collection.
Seymour Kushner: More than Just a Bug
One of the most influential bands in music history, The Beatles are a band beloved by many, including Seymour Kushner. Founded in Liverpool in 1960, The Beatles went on to achieve worldwide critical and commercial success over the duration of their ten-year recording career. With such classic albums as A Hard Day’s Night, The White Album, and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, the Beatles forever altered the image of popular music. Causing mass hysteria in a phenomenon called “Beatlemania” by the press on both sides of the Atlantic, the band certainly left a lasting footprint on our culture.
Seymour Kushner: Gather No Moss
Another British band that holds worldwide popularity is The Rolling Stones, another favorite of Seymour Kushner. Mick Jagger, the Rolling Stone’s now legendary vocalist is one of many great performers who Seymour has seen in concert. Formed in 1962 in London, The Rolling Stones began their career covering the traditional blues music of artists such as Muddy Waters and Rufus Thomas.
Over their 50 years of involvement in the music industry, The Rolling Stones fused blues, R&B, psychedelic, rock and roll, and pop into an undeniably powerful musical force. Their colorful and outrageous shows paved the way for other acts such as David Bowie, T.Rex, and other classic rock icons as well as some of Seymour Kushner’s favorite blues-rock bands of today.
