Seymour Kushner: Other Achievements

So far we have recounted several different facets of Seymour Kushner’s personality—the many different things that he is interested in, or has accomplished in his life. We mentioned, of course, that he runs a successful small business. We also said that he loves music, everything from Latin and Irish music to jazz and rock and roll, and that he has been in attendance at some of the most spectacular concerts and dance recitals you can dream of. We mentioned also his outdoor adventures, his love of bikes and of jeeps, and his many exotic forays into exquisite areas of the United States and Canada.

But Seymour Kushner has many other facets to his life; consider these examples:

• Seymour Kushner has an impressive academic background. He holds a degree in Business Management and a Masters in Music. Much of his college research was combining the two fields. For example, he went to factories and did time and motion studies, as well as plant layout and material handling studies, and presented his findings to management. He also researched patents for certain musical parts, redesigned and improved them and presented them to the manufacturers. And all of this was done while he was a college student!
• He is also an athletic enthusiast. An avid track and field fan, Seymour Kushner competed in the running broad jump as well as the 100-yard dash while in high school. In college, he competed on the wrestling team. To this day he enjoys watching NCAA track meets.
• Community service is important to him, as well. Seymour Kushner donates his time to a local soup kitchen. He says that it’s a humbling experience “realizing that any one of us could be on the other side of that counter. To see how a smile and a caring word can put a smile on a person if only for a moment is very rewarding. And to see the need of a soup kitchen where 60-120 meals are served daily in a county that is considered affluent is a wakeup call.”

Clearly, this is a man who has many interests and passions—and devotes himself to each of them with the same level of vigor and enthusiasm!
